How to Reach
IISER Pune is located in the Pashan region, surrounded by the beautiful Panchvati Hills and the CSIR-NCL campus on one side and the Aundh neighborhood on the other.
It is at most a 30-40 minute cab ride from Pune International Airport. From Mumbai International Airport (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport), reaching the campus takes nearly 3 hours via the Bengaluru-Mumbai Highway.
For those travelling by train, the nearest Railway Station is Pune Junction. Taxis and rented cars are available at the station and need merely 20 minutes to reach the campus.
Places to Visit
Pune has a number of breathtaking and noteworthy places to visit within a few kilometers of the city limits.

Devkund Waterfall is located in Bhira Patnus. It is the confluence of three waterfalls and is said to be the origin of Kundalika River. It is about a three-hour trek from base village along the dam backwater and through forest to reach this place known as ‘Devkund’. One must not miss such beauty while visiting Pune.

Rajgad (literal meaning Ruling Fort) is a Hill region fort situated in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. The Rajgad Fort is located around 60 km (37 mi) to the south-west of Pune and about 15 km (9.3 mi) west of Nasrapur in the Sahyadris range. The fort lies 1,376 m (4,514 ft) above the sea level. The diameter of the base of the fort was about 40 km (25 mi) which made it difficult to lay siege on it, which added to its strategic value. The fort's ruins consist of palaces, water cisterns, and caves.
